‘Upheaval’ is a symphony of chaos, a representation of our current state of affairs throughout 2020. While maintaining the character’s comical portrayal, Will pulls inspiration from the increasingly turbulent themes dominating the present day. The inspiration for this piece comes from the literal abundance and “management” of geese in Denver to the continuous misdirection by today’s news and political figures.

About The Artist: The chimp is a representation of a weathered soul finding his way in changing environments as part of an expanded series by the artist. His attire is that of an old-time circus performer, leaving the big top behind to travel the world while exploring his own inner self. His elephant companion, always in tow, imitates the behavioral ups and downs of our main characters’ sub-conscience. The goal of Will’s work is to capture a moment in time that blends the lines between reality and fantasy while placing the viewer in the natural and urban elements that he finds inspirational. This original artwork was completed with oil paints on a wood panel at the artist’s studio in Denver, CO.

Will is a former NFL offensive lineman having played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Miami Dolphins before moving on to become a full-time, self-taught painter and muralist in Denver, CO.
